le fin de l'hiver (the end of winter)

le fin de l'hiver I, II and III 2006
assemblage, collage and tempera on wooden floorboard
13 in x 13 in

This series was made last year during the winter months in Paris. At that time I was living near the enchanting Butte Chamounte in the 19th. A little creek that meanders through the park became a daily fascination as I watched it freeze in layers- each day a different expression, another feeling. In the streets that perimeter the Butte laid thousands of pieces of debris, everyday like the ocean’s tide, unusual specimens and curiosities are left scattered about. La fin de l’hiver (The end of winter) illustrates the development of subtle layers of emotions, reality and the relationships between nature, humans and the city.
